Which do you like to see live more NHRA or NASCAR?

By NHRA, I mean funny car and top fuel. I like them both, but personally I like NHRA better live. When two cars with a combined 15000 horsepower go by you the percussion is unbelievable. When you watch them at night, the nitro flames are awesome. Also, those drivers probably do more driving in the 1/4 mile than most NASCAR drivers do in 10 laps! I also love the smells of the burning rubber and nitro methane. You don't get as much of it at a NASCAR race.

  1. Compared to TV NHRA is definitely a must in person. NASCAR on TV actually has advantages to being there in person, especially at tracks like Daytona, Indy etc…, the big ones where you can't see the whole track.

But NHRA isn't ever done justice on TV. It's a whole different world in person and the noise. The beautiful rumbling in your gut noise.

  2. NHRA most definately. Its hard to compare when you have 16,000 horsepower on the line and when they take off it literally shakes the concrete stands that your sitting in. Also if you sit low enough it almost takes your breath away.

  3. THE EXPLOSION OF NHRA DESTROYS NASCAR IT MAKES UR BALLS AND BRAIN RATTLE THE SMELL THE NOISE I LUV IT

  4. NASCAR did a great thing when they introduced road race courses to the circuit. I would LOVE to see the NHRA do something similar. Perhaps it wouldn't work with funny cars and top fuel dragsters, but wouldn't if be great to see the many other different classes of NHRA cars compete on road race courses, like Infineon and Laguna Seca?

  5. The worst thing Nascar ever did was to close Rockingham, there was the best of both worlds. Cup on one side of the road and NHRA on the other. I think its up to the fan which one they prefer…If you like heads up racing…NHRA. If you want to see 43 drivers slug it out and watch team strategies pay off or fail…Nascar.

  6. To be honest, I like seeing cars turn.

  7. NASCAR. that's my husband favorite.

  8. NHRA is my choice no question. But by it's nature live coverage of it's very difficult to provide.Nitro cars are notorious for blowing up and dumping oil on the track. And then the TV audience has to sit through the cleanup which can take upwards of a hour or two.I attended a drag race this past weekend and one of the first funny cars doing a qualifying run grenaded it's engine at half track spreading oil on the entire second half of the track. The cleanup and repreping of the track took almost three hours all the time the fans had to just sit or getup and walk around the pits.It was tried several years ago when they offered the mopar parts summer nationals on a pay per view basis you could buy any of the days or the entire weekend and a substantial amount of the coverage was of cleaning up after a car had a problem or getting the track ready between rounds of racing.Even with nascar when a major accident happens there is substantial downtime but the networks have made the downtime seem minimal by covering the pit work and having the commentates talk about other things.

  9. Nascar, hands down! I like NHRA, but Nascar is better.

    Go Jr.>>>>

  10. NHRA rules live, I even watch it after NASCAR on Sat. qualifying and Sunday after the NASCAR races.

The sound you can feel. Its like a thousand little fingers tapping all over your body (wear the best hearing protection you can find if you go to see top fuel).

Your eyes viberate and blur your vision and your heart pumps 90 mile an hour. Its a rush second only to driving a drag car or Pro Stock bike that goes in the 9s.

If you havn't seen top fuelers run, you havn't seen the most awsome display of power on earth yet.

Dont care for John Forces big mouth but my moneys on Hot Rod Fuller this year.

I started dragging at the dirty D in romulus MI. in 1975 396 Chevelle. 69 426 Super Bee, 327, 1970 Camaro, 1971 Vega wagon with 350, My first 9 sec car was a 1970 vega w/12 point cage, Narrowed ford 9'' rear end, aluminum interior, 350 cid with 1150 holley, wheely bars and all. I got a ticket in Oregon OH. for lifting the front wheels off the ground at a red light. LOL I took pictures into court of the car and the judge said are you supposed to be driving that on the street. I said the lights work and the front fender is 8" of the ground. I was charged with driveing a car with out control. Now that is some funny stuff yall. My biggest fine was in a 69 Dodge charger. 142 mph on I75 near Troy MI at 2:30 in the morning. I was pulling away from a camarro with dual quads sticking out of the hood. Ahhhhh the good ole days. They suspended my license indefinately for that one. Pricks. LOL. Really kids speed kills. I was just lucky. I havent even told my kids these stories. Got my heart pounding just thinking about it.

  11. NASCAR is held every week whereas NHRA is done sporadically. Also, there aren't as many major sponsors with NHRA as well.

NASCAR is a multibillion dollar business and I also agree that when they left "The Rock" they messed up. Just so Texas could add another race.

  12. Nascar

    P.S TONY STEWART $UCK$

  13. Nascar ,as there is constant action going on

  14. I like them both. I've been to both, and had great times at each - NHRA in person makes your chest vibrate, but NASCAR smells better, lol!

  15. I've already seen NHRA live, so let me see a NASCAR race live, then I'll tell you which I like better.
